[May. 15th, 2008|07:19 am] |
So this morning I'm on my way to work. Lost in thought about how the hell I'm going to get /home/ from work as I had to put in 2 bucks for gas (yes I'm that broke); and the other 3 was for bus.
I have 20 cents, my bank account is overdrawn so I can't use my bank card.
Whoot?
Anyhow, I am driving along, lost in thought when I notice the vehicle beside me is pacing me. It was behind me for a bit and had moved over; and I half-glance over. And all I register is that there's a man wearing a uniform in the car. Immediately think, "Oh, you've got to be fucking kidding me. Just what I need. Cop on his way to work..." Mind you, the cars in front of me were going faster than I was, so I slow down a bit. Car slows as well.
Then it beeps at me.
I look over, about to motion that I am doing the damn speed limit and go find someone else to harass, when I realize who it is.
kookyduke, on his way to work. Hey, the uniforms all look alike when you are just doing a quick glance over!
Well, if I'm going to be stalked by someone, might as well be someone I can trust, right? ;) Not so sure how long he was behind/next to me though. Yah, I'm awake and alert.
It did give me a smile though.
But man I'm telling you. Too many weirdos around here. |

| | determined | ] | I have new dice. Glow in the dark dice with Eldersigns on them. I ordered these back at GenCon last year, apparently they lost my order and it took forever for me to hunt down their website but I have them now. It fills me with glee. Evil glee.
House is finally starting to come together. Really. I'm serious this time.
Pop decided that my kitchen needed rewired as most of it wasn't grounded. Eep. He just has the light and one plug left to rewire. I love my dad. He is made of win and awesome.
Bathroom, living room, utility room and nook are properly grounded so he doesn't have to fix any of that. Neither the office or the bedroom are though. Well there are plugs that ought to be, as there is a grounding wire there, but it doesn't seem to be connected. Dunno if he's going to go ahead and do that too.
Egan and Claire are awesome too and are givig me a new ceiling fan for the office as house warming present. Scary basketball fan (ha! basketball fan.) is going to be gone.
Everything has been washed. Now all that is left is to killz the rooms, paint them, do the counter in the kitchen and find carpet or something for the office and bedroom. The bedroom carpet was completely unsalvagable and the office carpet had to go too. No amount of cleaning would have saved either carpet. Oh, and get a plumber to look at the drain in the bathroom, anyone know a good, inexpensive plumber?
Hopefully, cross your fingers for me kids, this mean I'll be able to get moved in before my birthday. Dear sweet monkeys I hope I am or I might well go round the bend. |

Ah, Senator Clinton, you've given away your hand. Telling people you'll support the Democratic candidate, advising your followers that voting for McCain over Obama would be a mistake.
You're staying in the race until all the primaries are over to let the party continue to drum up excitement and mobilize voters across all 50 states, so that the party is better prepared to run a campaign across the country. You're setting up the grand reconciliation to unify the party under Senator Obama, to throw your support and advise your base to step beyond racial politics to embrace the best chance our generation has to believe in the political process again after 8 years of having the executive branch run roughshod over the constitution and our international goodwill.
It's a good plan, Senator Clinton. I hope you stick with it. You may well redeem yourself in my and many others' eyes in helping close the gap between democratic demographics. We may yet pull this one out, and manage to *not* snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Here's hoping. |

Comment and I'll give you a letter. - You'll then have to list 10 things you love that begin with that letter. - You may choose to do it at your journal or leave a comment here. - Afterward, post this in your journal and give out some letters of your own
A long time ago, kurosawa2005 gave me a letter for this one and it was S.
And then today, firesong_jb gave me R.
So two of them!
- S - 1) Storms 2) Stories 3) Suspense 4) Supernatural (The show and non-show stuff) 5) Sunflowers 6) Snapdragons 7) Singing 8) Shooting stars 9) Sun/Snow (both weather related, figure they fit) 10) Satin
- R -
1) Roleplaying (My LARPS, tabletop and such, get brains out of gutter!) 2) Reading 3) Rabbits 4) Romance/Romantic things (Yes, I am sorta girly, so sue me!) ;) 5) Riddles 6) Rain/Rainbows 7) Rasberries (the fruit) 8) Relaxing (Though I don't know how to, really) 9) Rafting (White water) 10) Rock (as in classic) |

| Loosing faith in what was |
[May. 14th, 2008|08:18 am] |
You know, I used to have faith in the organization that I met most of my friends through as well as my husband. Even when Kevin's faith had been annihilated for some god awful reason I stayed and I'm beginning to wonder why. OWBN is not the organization I fell in love with, or for that matter so many of us fell in love with oh so long ago.
Chad - Sorry that things fell apart as fast as they did. As far as my opinion goes, I think you did a great job and put up a hell of a fight. Then again, you know that. Regardless.... thank you for what you did. I know that you did what you thought was right.
Oh, and if I hear another person insult my best friend (or any of my close friends for that matter) directly or indirectly they're going to have to deal with me from this point on. I'm sick of it. I'm not going to sit back and pretend I'm not watching it happen. So for all of you cowards out there who find it necessary to make your little jabs for your own petty self indulgences thinking no one knows how much you love feeding your own damned ego, it's been duely noted. |

| | grateful | ] | Last night, I came home to an amazing dinner prepared by my partner, lapis_lorelei. It included ostrich and Cuban sweet potato. Seriously, ostrich! Amazing.
Then, later that night, she actually drove me to a concert I could have easily walked to--one she couldn't go to because she was still feeling under the weather.
The concert ended at 1:17 AM. At 1:19 AM, I received a call from my sweetie, asking if I wanted to be picked up because it was raining.
She came and got me. And then fed me mini-pizzas on home-made English muffins (!!!) and home-made marinara sauce.
The way I see it, I must have dedicated at least two past lives exclusively to saving puppies to earn this kind of karma. |

| Rainy hump day |
[May. 14th, 2008|07:16 am] |
Almost got killed in the park and ride today. I'm pulling into a space when some asstard comes flying down the parking lot from the other direction (mind you, bus isn't even THERE yet) and starts to pull into my space without even slowing down. Luckily there was no one in the space next to me and I swerved to avoid an accident.
Little fucker.
Smell in apartment - it's from the glue used for the new vinyl flooring. I asked them to please find out what can get rid of it and do it quickly as it's giving me headaches. I love the apartment, but ya know...can you use non-toxic glue on vinyl? kthxbye.
I feel vindicated. I know me, and I know my cats. I am a cluttered person but I am a clean person. My cats, when angry do not pee on things. Even when Corri has a UTI, she would run for the litterbox; or she would use my clothing if she couldn't make it. They rip paper to shreds when angry.
Tonight is gonna be busyish. Have to return something to petsmart, get my meds; and then find out what time I have to be over at firesong_jb's place for stupersekrit stuff. Or something like that.
I think tomorrow I'm going to have a Season Finale Party for Supernatural. I'm hoping a small crew will come over to watch it. Since it's supposed to rain (grumbles). At some point this week or early next week, I want to get over to tleventer's to visit and help her weed her garden.
Friday night I take the cats to meet the new vet, but after that I have no plans. And currently no plans for the weekend though that may change, depending. I do need to explore and find Trader Joe's and such; as well as try and hunt down a table/chairs, and find out how to get the desk if I can still have it. :) I also need to hunt down the gaming store snowtiger42 told me about to buy a copy of the Serenity tabletop book so I can make my character up.
And of course unpack. Whee! So far I have some clothing; and my kitchen just about done. Go me? Hee. |

| [ | mood |
| | tired | ] | Dear friends,
Many of you have been understandably confused by the Fairy Tale episode of Scrubs serving as the series finale. It was not. I was not allowed to say it until today, but Scrubs will be moving to ABC for its final season. We are currently filming the 8th and final season. The true finale of the show will air on ABC in the fall. NBC merely promoted the Fairy Tale episode as the finale, as it was the last episode they owned.
Also, several of you were very confused by the fact that Dr. Kelso and Laverne were still working at the hospital in the Fairy Tale episode. Because of the writer's strike, the last remaining episodes for NBC were aired out of order. This is why Dr. Kelso was still chief of medicine. That was not Laverne however, for those of you who have been following closely; it was a new nurse "Shirley" who no one thinks looks anything like Laverne except for JD.
Hope this clears some things up.
peace and love, zb |

Thank Gods for bus passes that I can get paid for before taxes; and that I chose to not commute all the way in.
I will also be able to telecommute within the next month at -least- one day a week, maybe more.
That will help.
;)
On that note, I'm going to see if it's cheaper to mail the friggen modem/box back to comcast rather than drive back to Indy this weekend to drop it off. |

(click images for full album, including video)
Back in April I announced my intent to fight in a Duel-a-Thon to support the Heart of Courtesy Fund for Zygmunt's medical bills.
On Saturday, at Baron Wars XI, I fought 35 duels (separate from other structured fencing activities). In total, thanks to my many generous donors, this marathon of swordplay raised $461. The first installment of $206 was sent to the fund account earlier today.
I was overwhelmed by the positive support that I received, and I'm more than a little proud of what I was able to achieve.
Thank you to everyone who donated, encouraged me, and crossed blades with me. It would not have been possible without you. |

Your Score: Midsummer Night's...You scored 27% = Tragic, 55% = Comic, 29% = Romantic, 49% = HistoricYou are A Midsummer Night's Dream. Blending elements of comedy and romance, A Midsummer Night's Dream tells the story of mischievous fairies who conspire to make everyone fall in love with everyone else, often with disastrous, yet humorous consequences. You are most likely haphazard in love, but good natured and friendly. While you may also have a mischievous side to you, it is most likely all in good fun. We have no doubt that you are an outgoing person, who may also be a bit of a klutz. And while you may not always get it right, you always try to do the right thing. We applaud you! |

| | morose | ] | So, last thursday Mark, Robin, and I are driving up to Terre Haute to get my engagement ring, and WE GOT REAR ENDED BY A FUCKING SCHOOL BUS FULL OF FIFTH GRADERS. Seriously. Not. Joking. My LAST CAR is more than likely TOTALED. And as we aren't done dealing with my last car accident shit, we aren't able to get a car without someone cosigning...... My dad may not be able to help with the wedding, so it is getting hard core slimmed down to almost nothing..... I CAN'T HANDLE ANY OF THIS SHIT ANY MORE. Oh, and moving caused a fever blister to appear and I do believe that rogue cars/buses are just drawn to my menstrual blood, as Mark so eloquently put it. My period started the night before, T.M.I., sorry. My first accident happened whilst on my period and my last one just barely preceded it.
*Head, meet Desk. Desk, this is Head*
My back and neck are "strained" Read that as IT HURTS. They gave me Lortab 10 in the ED to help. I got stoned. In front of my boss. I had gone up to my floor to tell her about the accident and was lucky enough to have the Lortab hit me as I'm talking to her. Talk about embarrassing. But, the bright side, if Lortab 10 got me that stoned, I guess that is proof positive of my lack of drug habits.
*Rinse and Repeat. Desk, Head, you've met before* |
